George Westinghouse Memorial Bridge

This bridge, on the National Register, is one of the most famous and important bridges of the Pittsburgh region. Its 460 foot main span was the largest for a concrete arch in the world upon completion. Today, the bridge is the second tallest vehicular bridge in Pennsylvania and the 22nd tallest in America. The bridge towers above the site of the former Westinghouse Electric factories. The four entrance pylons have art deco reliefs by Frank Vittor. The subjects are: George Westinghouse, Electricity, Turtle Creek Valley History, and Steel.
